SAKHARANI

Sakharani is a dependant house of Benedictine Abbey Ndanda. Sakharani as a farm was started by Tom Prince in 1900. Tom Prince was known by his soldiers; "Bwana Sakharani" Hence the name of place is known as SAKHARANI.

WHERE WE ARE

Sakharani is located in MBELEI VILLAGE, MAMBA WARD LUSHOTO District in the Usambara Mountains in Tanga Region in Tanzania

OUR ACTIVITIES

Sakarani has 315 Acres land. In this farm we have planted fifferent types of tree like Pines, Grevillia, Acrocaprpus, Quinine trees
We have also a Macadamia trees, Grapes. We produce two types of Wines; Sakharani port Wine and Sakharani Dry Wine. We also make Macadamia Oil, Macadamia nuts and Grape Juice. We have also have a carpentry workshop for furniture and keep different types of Animals

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

We do pastoral work in St.Joseph parish Sakharani where we also have a new small kindergarten
We also do youth pastoral social ministry.

Sakharani Drainage.

Sakharani is also a formation House where we prepare young people who want to join with us for religious life.
